Why choose me?
Professionally trained editor
Here at Rosser-James Editing, your manuscript will be edited by a professional editor, trained by and having previous experience working directly for a highly regarded STM publisher (the Royal Society of Chemistry). I also work to the code of practice set out by the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders, so you can be confident in the standard of work you receive.
In-house training of scientific publishing editors is rigorous to ensure the work they produce is of a high standard acceptable for publication in some of the highest impact factor journals in the world. As a publishing editor, a substantial part of the role involved managing the peer review process, therefore, by using Rosser-James Editing, you will benefit from this insider knowledge of what publishers are looking for.
Many larger academic proofreading and editing companies you will come across, use other English speaking researchers to do their editing. Whilst they may be experts in their field and capable of writing articles well in their own language, they have rarely received specific training in the skills of proofreading and editing. Additionally, they can’t possibly have any experience of trying to get an article published with English as a second language. Most don’t generally have experience of the selection process from the perspective of the publisher either.
By working with an individual rather than a large company, you benefit from a more personal, bespoke service which can be tailored to your needs. You know exactly who will be proofreading or editing your document and can be assured of the quality of the work you receive. Should you have any questions or problems you are able to talk directly to the person who has been working on your document.
Genuine native English editor
Your work will be edited by a true native English speaker i.e. born and educated in the UK. You will find other companies offering editing services at very low prices, however, my fees reflect the fact that I am a genuine UK resident.
I pride myself on being honest and trustworthy and confidentiality was an integral part of my role at the RSC. So you can rest assured that the content of your document being edited or proofread will stay confidential.
